Long brown curls spread out over a pillow, where a young girl lay still, each breath labored. Her cheeks flushed and lips parched, she drifted in and out of sleep. She didn't know why she was ill. She didn't realize that the cut on her knee was severely infected. Just 10 years old, she didn't know about cleaning wounds and infections. And no one was there to get the antibiotics her body desperately needed. That was why, 3 years ago, young Rina Levy fought an infection for 5 full weeks, until finally, miraculously, her infection healed on its own. Rina is the oldest of a tight-knit group of 8 siblings, who are tragic victims of neglect and dysfunction. 5-years-ago their father passed away suddenly. While the children mourned the loss of their father, their mother reacted by withdrawing into herself, completely neglecting her children.  Without immediate help, the children risk a future of severe neglect and dysfunction. Friends are working to save the children, however nothing can be done without funds.
