I am personally appealing on behalf of a family I have been acquainted with for over 20 years.
A child was born to this family with a rare birth defect called Arthrogryposis. The main muscles of the legs and arms are deformed from birth, severely restricting movement and development. Both parents attend to the child daily to help perform simple physical needs.
With Hashem's help, a one of a kind clinic was located capable of correcting this rare condition. The family reached out to them immediately. The parents met with a team of experts who outlined the extent of the medical procedures required as well as a time frame expanding over four years. The cost would amount to over hundreds of thousands of dollars. The determination and dedication of both the parents and the Bochur are remarkable.
The family now stands at the crossroads where the completion of this momentous task is within reach. The next upcoming months are the most crucial where pivotal surgical procedures will be performed. Six upcoming operations are scheduled that combine hip and knee replacement to be compatible with new muscles that have been surgically replaced. He requires to be away from home for a four month period undergoing these surgeries with follow up physical therapy. (He will unfortunately not be able to attend the Bar Mitzvah of a younger sibling).
