"No, we can't do it. It's not what Abba would have wanted." Despite Tamar's protests, her mother was adamant. Her beloved husband had passed away right after Tamar had started shidduchim. The two women plunged from the excitement of a new stage in life to drowning in grief and shock. Boruch Hasheem, Tamar was recently thrilled to announce her engagement. But the next day, her thoughts were concerned for her mother, who could not possibly make a simcha on her own.
But her mother would not hear of it.
Her daughter had found her soulmate, and there was nothing her husband alav hashalom would have wanted more than for his beloved daughter to proceed to her chuppah. Tamar doesn't know how she will make it to her chuppah without her beloved abba. A hachnasas kallah fund is collecting money to help Tamar have a simple wedding, and start a home with the basics, an expense far beyond her capabilities at this time.
Thank you and tizku l'mitzvos.
