Dear Mr. Lakin, Looking back at the past year—the agony, the unity, the tears shed for our hostages and their families, and the moments when the clouds parted and we saw G-d's hand—the haunting words of the Yom Kippur service feel as germane as ever. This is the day it is decided who will live and who will die, who by water and who by fire, who by hunger and who by thirst. Then we come to the following words: repentance, prayer and charity avert the severity of the decree. The nature of this coming year is in our hands! This Yom Kippur more than ever, we need every one of us to join in fasting and prayer, pleading before G-d for the time when His sovereignty will be felt by all and the world will filled with peace, plenty, goodness and G-dliness! If you do not yet have a place to pray this Yom Kippur, please let us know and we'll do our best to set you up! Wishing you a meaningful and easy fast, Your friends and family @ Chabad.org |
